Let it snow!

This year, our Christmas video shows the results of a CFD analysis on a Christmas snow globe lantern.  In the bottom of the housing demineralized water is set in motion by a simple rotor. In this way  the particles that represent the snow flow around and whirl. Using the CFD software Simcenter FLOEFD we have made the rotor spin with a “rotating region”. The flow field then develops throughout the lantern.

In the animation of the actual CFD results we see particle trajectories (flow trajectories) through the flow field after 1.1 sec.

HEC closed between Christmas and new year

We are closed from December 27 until December 31 2021. We hope to be of service again from January 3th.
